I have been associated with Head Start for about 12 years now. My oldest son Gage is now 14 years old. I was first introduced to the program when he was 3. Gage attended Head Start at the Streetsboro center. Dajh, my second to oldest, who is now 8 years old, attended the center as well. Currently, my youngest, Atlas, who is 7 months old, and Diesel, who is almost 2 are active in the EHS Home Based program. We’ve been working with an EHS Home Visitor through virtual visits. Head Start and Early Head Start, in my opinion, give younger children the opportunity to make friends, learn patience, how to share with others, and helps them reach other important developmental milestones. It also gives parents techniques to help discipline the child as well.
